I Can't Let Up!

I am hitting a pretty big slump and it is not very fun. I had a big losing day about two weeks ago playing cash games. Then everything went down hill shortly after that. Then I took a break from poker for a week. I started again a few days ago playing 22 and 27 dollar tourney on Stars. After 32 games I am down 82 bucks. I play 4 table at a time so thats about 8 hours of playing. Its pretty annoying because when the cards do not fall your way there is nothing you can do... except play through your slump...
The thing is I got so used to winning I forgot what it felt like to have my BR go down instead of up.
This is a good reality check for me. I know I can't let up.
I'm just trying realy hard to regain my momentum. All I need is a spark to get me going.
As of right now here's where I stand:

Pokerstars BR 2432.50
Pokeroom BR 945.50

I dropped a few hundreds in my slump, no biggie.
I can not look back... For the next couple of days I have to play a lot of Poker to get Silverstar Status for Pokerstars.
My Humble goal is to get my BR back up to 2600 on Stars by the end of the month...

Once September Start I'm going to start a new project. (note: I abandoned project redemption)

Poker vs. Computer Games

I took time off from poker this past week because I bought a video game: Sid Meyer's Pirates, and recently bought another one, Heroes of Might and Magic V.
For me to play games over Poker must say a lot about how seriously I take Poker--- pros dont do this kind of shit- Poker is work!
But I have my reasons... I just needed to clear my head of any tilt... I realized that when I wrote my last post I was way too hasty- I need to take it slow still...
Tonight I will start up Poker again... I have to clear about 750 FPPs on Stars for August if I want to be Silverstar still. So I think I'm going to be playing mostly on Stars.

My strategy is to 4 Table 20 dollar SNGs... regain my confidence a bit before going back to the .50/1 Cash tables.

Project Redemption!

Here's the deal, I'll make it short.
I logged in for my worst Cash session for as long as I can remember. I got setted 4 times... and lost a big pot JJ vs KK. Dropped over 200 on Pokerstars.
I could have avoided a lot of my losses... but you know how it is... I'm a noob... especially when I'm on a losing streak.

So I gotta redeem myself! Big time!
Right now I have 2918 on Pokerstars. I'm cashing out 218 to punish myself. Also going to cash out 78 on Pokeroom. This will leave me with:

Neteller 300 *after I cash out the rest

This totals out to be 4000

as for this weeks earnings, I pretty much lost it all today... pretty much break even this week.

SNG grind

Went home to OC today... got to use my dell inspiron laptop... first time I tried playing 5 SNGs at once on here, 2 on Stars and 3 on Pokeroom
Here are the results:

I would say this is much above average result. Up 123 for the session. If I can just average 30 per session I would be happy. Each session takes a little more then an hour... I'm going to log in for another one soon.

Lost my Mouse

I must have left my mouse in one of my classes. I can't find it anywhere. With the built in scrollpad from the laptop I am only comfortable playing 2 tables at a time.

Overall that puts me up 2 bucks for the session. Disappointing 2nd place finishes I got sucked out on in both.

I felt like crap today, didnt feel like doing anything but had so much to do. The only hours I can count for poker were after midnight last night.

Anyway- I am going to have to get in some serious hours of poker this weekend to make up for such an off-week for me so far.

I'm a Tourney Man

I tasted a little bit of the Cashout Curse... Dropped about 100 on Stars .50/1 NL.
In an attempt to control this downswing, I played 3 27 Dollar Turbo on Stars. Got a 2nd, 2nd, and 1rst. These were much needed ITM finishes because I was down for the day and had lost a bunch in a row in the past couple weeks (on Stars). I played the Turbos because I want to practice for the 55+5 Turbos... I heard these games were easier then the 50s.

In Pokeroom, I played 4 22dollar SNGs. Lost two and got 2 1rsts
I also played 2 33dollar SNGs. Lost one and got a 3rd.

Overall I'm up about 150 for the day. Cashed out 50 with my ATM account.
I also signed up for Paradise Poker. I'll update my Bankrolls next time.

Weekly Recap

I played very little this weekend... I guess it was a needed break after my first Bonuswhore Project.
On Saturday lost some money on Pokerstars, but not much. Anyway as of today here's where I stand.

I've had back to back personal record breaking weeks. I have to attribute this to the amount of hands I played more then anything else. I played many hands this week in order to clear the bonus and that resulted in more money being made.
For this coming week I am going to try out the 50 dollar and 55 Turbo SNGs on STars. I plan to clear 625 VIP points on Pokerstars, and put 300 into a new Paradise Poker account and begin claiming their bonus there.
Also, expect a high cashout for this week. I am cashing out 500 from Neteller. And since Pokeroom is my ATM account, most of what I make there is also going straight to Neteller then into my bank account.
I plan to make about 600 for the week.

The Second Half Results:
I played 2 10 manSNGs in Pokeroom, lost one and got a 1rst
The rest was .50/1 Cash games 3 tabling... a little bit of 1/2
I brought my Pokeroom BR from 1712 to 2225 (+513)
I cleared the remaining of the 2100 Bonus Points, and claimed the Deposit Bonus (+300)
I played a little bit of Cash games on Stars, won 96, Cashed out 52

It's all over!

Overall, I am very proud of myself for my discipline and hard work in the past two weeks. I played fearlessly and relentlessly... and that is excactly what it takes if I want to make it as a substantially profitable poker player.
I managed to make a total of 1558 while trying to claim a 300 dollar bonus. This means I am not a cheap Bonuswhore... but a legit and skilled Poker Player! I also accomplished this by playing both CASH and SNGs.

As for Pokeroom, I definitely have mixed feelings... It is by far the most profitable site for me... much more profitable then Stars have been. However, I very much dislike the program and the random glitches... and its harder to find a game.
I will keep money in Pokeroom... and will play here occassionally to get some quick Cashouts. This will be my ATM account, in a sense.
Pokerstars will still be my main site, unless I slump really hard or find one much better.

Here is my current Status:

For the near future: I am going Cash out a large amount from Pokeroom. I'm putting 500 in my checking (I need the money unfortunately). I am paying 670 back to Pokerstars (money deposited to claim the Pokeroom Bonus). Finally, I will put 300 aside to use exclusively for Bonuswhoring. The next site I have my eyes set on is Paradise Poker.
This shall leave me with a little over 1050 in Pokeroom. Again, I plan to make this site my ATM, and Cash out frequently from this site and put it straight into my Bank account.
With over 3000 in Pokerstars, I will attempt to beat the .50/1 for good throughout the rest of August.
Once all the Money goes through in Neteller... I shall begin a new organized plan. For the rest of this weekend, I will just play whatevers... hopefully I will win and not lose.

Poker at Coffee Bean again... I played a tiny bit on Pokeroom Ring games and won like 20 bucks.
Played one 22 dolalr SNG and two 33 dollar SNGs on Stars... lost all 3... Disappointing.... it seems that Stars tourney players are a lot tighter... but it doesnt help when I push wiht AK and lose to AT, and lose all coinflips... Still... I gotta admit it's harder to win on Stars.
It's 11 PM, I'm a little flustered right now-- havent lost all 3 SNGs at once for awhile...
I think I'm going to stop playing for the day, and take the small profit of about 25 bucks total.

I am very tempted to take the first option, but I think I will put my pride aside and take the second option.
I will definitely clear the Bonus for Pokeroom within 10 more days. After that I will consider going back to Stars SNGs and lay a smackdown on that shit.... pissing me off.

Followed normal routine, played 3 SNGs this morning on Pokeroom., Lost 1 with QQ vs TT, and got a 1rst and a 2nd... Disappointing 2nd place finish because I kinda played bad heads up... agaisnt a lucky player I play too agressive sometimes. Next time I need to be more patient.
On Sharkscope my ROI went down to under 200% lol... However, I've played enough games now to have a Shark Icon next to my name... yeah that's right! I'm a Shark Bioatch!

I played exclusively on Pokeroom today... I figure it helps more with the bonus.
From 3 to 6 I e tabled .50/1 NL and won around 140... most of it from one pot where I setted a guy who overplayed his flush draw on the flop... thank god it didnt hit I woulda been pissed.
Played 6 more SNGs, Lost 4, and got one 1rst and one 2nd.... heh... guess I'm back down to earth now. But I'll take this kind of result anyday.

Overall I am happy with my play as of late... I find myself not tilting nearly as much as before... even the slightest tilt can lose you a lot of money.
I also like the ballance I have between SNGs and Cash games... hopefully I can keep this up forawhile and in the future move up to 55 dollar SNGs and 1/2 NL.
I plan to clear at least 67 bonus points tomorrow.

Project Whore: Day 11a

My Girlfriend and I had a fight last night... so I'm kinda sad
Life as a poker player is a lonely one and she provides the companionship I need, so when we fight and she pushes me away it does not feel good at all.
Anyhow, I played 2 SNGs in Pokeroom and got a 10th and a 3rd
I played my top pair in the first SNG a little too soft and let a guy catch his gutshot on me, and called his all in like an idiot.
For the one I got 3rd in, it was all BL... Once in the money I put my money in with the best hand 3 times in a row and got sucked out on all 3 times. Two of them were gutshot straights!
I'm kind of glad that my streak ended this way though. Now I dont have the constant pressure to keep up the streak.... it was quite an amazing streak however: SharkScope -SNG Streak
Since I lost one SNg early, I played a cash game as my second table. Ended up positive 62 bucks, so I'm up 58 for the session.... Not bad.
Gotta go to class now, play more later... prolly more on STARs.

Project Whore: Day10a

It's Noon right now and I've been playing since 10AM.
First logged in to Pokeroom and played 2 10man SNGs, got a 2nd and a 3rd.
After that I logged into Stars 3 tabling .50/1 6max tables. Started off slow as usual but grinded it back up to be positive 85 for the session. I'm feeling a lot more comfortable at this level now. I'm gonna make it my main (Cash) game for awhile... until I break 10k or something.
Poker is fun when you win... and its fun when you play when you're in a good mood. I like to chat with the players at my tables... after all it's just a game and we're supposed to have fun playing it.
Tonight I plan to clear about 100 bonus points in Pokerroom... and maybe play a little more on Stars.

From now on I'm going to do my weekly reports on Saturday night. I think this is good because I can start each week off with a fresh Sunday... to rack up some numbers early.
I played 3 shorthanded .50/1 tables on Stars... had a horrible start getting stacked hard... made my straight vs a mystery flush... I made a good comeback grinidng it out, ended in the positive at least.
I've had an unbelievable run in Pokerroom's SNGs in the past few days, making this week probably my best week ever (and I'm only couning 6 days).

Yay I'm done with Finals!!
A pretty painful few days it has been for me... so glad it's over.
I decided to go home today to OC, glad I did because once I got home I logged in for a couple darn good poker sessions.
Played two SNGs on Pokerroom, and got a 2nd and a 1rst... not bad eh?
After that I 2 tabled .50/1 Cash games... played really well and made about 120 from that. I think the reason for this is because I took a good nap and refreshed myself. Last night I was playing while tired and stressed, which may have caused me to throw away some of my money *on both Stars and Pokerroom.
Anyway, here's my current status by Friday night:

I'm updating this early cuz tonight I gotta do a double paper then I'll be done for session A.
Bad news is I blew some of the Pokerroom BR, down to 750 which is still ok I guess. I blame it on the gay timer which autofold my hand without warning in some key spots.... God I miss playing on Pokertars!
Good news is I cleared a lot more of the bonus... played some $1 blind PL OmahaHL hehe, that shit clears the bonus even faster!
Another good news is that I messed around on Stars Ring games for a few very short sessions... stacked like three guys at the 6 handed tables. So up about 160 there.
Pokerroom is just pissing me off in many different ways. I am setting a goal to bring my BR up to $1200 before I cash out there... even if it means I have to play more after the bonus (but no promises-hehe). So I plan to Cash out $1500 from Pokerroom by the time this first Bonuswhore Project is over.

Moved up to .50/1 Blinds today, playing full ring tables.
The first hand I got was AA, reraised pot to 20 vs a raiser and a caller. shortstack called then went all in on flop for another 15 bucks with a KT on Kxx board with a flush draw and of course he hits it on me.
Anyhow, was able to bounce back from that, but didnt bounce too high... pretty much broke even for the day.
The good news is that at this rate I clear the Bonus much faster! Hopefully I can clear the whole thing by next weekend.

Eh despite what I said in my last post I squeezed in a good couple hours of poker... playing at coffee bean while everyone else is studying.
I played exclusively in Pokerroom for this session.
I played 2 SNGs and got 2nd in one, painful though cuz 1rst place sucked me out at least 4 times and won every coinflip against me.
At the same time I won about 70 bucks playing cash games at full ring tables.

Poker Blues

I really should be posting this in my xanga, but I like this blog so much I'll post it here. For the past two days I've been feeling crummy, and not very productive both in school and poker... or anything else.
The TV at our apartment broke, and the girl next door must have locked up her wireless internet or something --- anyhow we can't steal her internet anymore. So the only time I can use the internet is when I am away from home.
I have a final on thursday and two final papers due on friday, and the only thing I've been doing is browsing twoplustwo.com looking at other people's July Graphs. hehe
A lot of people post all their tournament results, %ROI and %ITM, which is pretty neat. As for the cash games, the graphs are awesome... a lot people are making 40K plus a month like nothing.
The thing is, all of these profitable put in the hours and play a lot a lot of poker... They play up to 1000 SNGs a month.
AT 15% ROI for $20 buy ins I can make $3000 a Month if I play 1000 SNGs... which is still weaksauce, however, compared to Cash games.
I think I'm going to try for about 300 SNGs this month (ave. 10 per day), and mix that up with Cash Games. The thing is... its so hard to find time to play Poker now. I really want to clear the Pokerroom Bonus in about a Week. I plan to play full time this weekend and get the Bonus Point down to 1000... and clear the rest in the week.
After that, I think I'm going to put it all back into Stars and try to do some real damage with my 3k+ BR (2200 + 700 + 300*) Bonus*, assuming I break even. by the time I clear the bonus. I will have to develop a new plan that involves me playing a lot more poker... right now I feel like i'm playing only a third of what I need to play.
For now, I have to put poker aside and buckle up for Finals... no more updates until Thursday or Friday when I am all done. Peace.
